Our Promise to Sellers

Listing on Culture Closet is completely free. We charge no commission and no listing fees. You set your own price and keep every penny of your sale proceeds.

What You Can Sell

Culture Closet is specifically designed for cultural, traditional, and modest occasion wear. Suitable items include:

• Bridal wear: lehengas, sarees, gowns, sherwanis, sharara & gharara
• Occasion wear: salwar kameez, anarkalis, abayas, modest dresses, kaftans
• Men's occasion wear: sherwanis, kurta sets, waistcoats
• Children's occasion wear
• Cultural accessories: jewellery, dupattas, scarves, shoes, clutches

Listing Requirements

All listings must:

• Include at least 3 clear photographs — full length, detail shot, and label
• Accurately describe the condition — be honest about any wear, marks, or repairs
• Include the correct size, fabric, colour, and occasion
• Disclose any alterations made to the garment
• Be priced at a minimum of £10

Misleading listings will be removed and may result in account suspension.

After a Sale

• You will receive an email notification and an in-platform message when your item sells
• Dispatch the item within 3 business days using a tracked postal service
• Add the tracking number to your order in Culture Closet
• Package the item carefully — garment bags or tissue paper are recommended for delicate items
• The buyer has 72 hours from delivery to raise a dispute
• Once the dispute window closes with no dispute, your payment is released to your Stripe account
• Stripe payouts to your bank account happen on your chosen schedule

Postage

Sellers are responsible for postage costs unless stated otherwise in the listing. We strongly recommend:

• Royal Mail Tracked 48 for items under £100
• Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Special Delivery for items over £100
• Keeping your proof of postage receipt until the transaction is confirmed complete

Disputes

If a buyer raises a dispute about your item, we will contact you by email and ask for your response and any evidence. Please respond within 48 hours. Our team will review all evidence and reach a decision within 5 business days.

To minimise disputes: be honest in your listing description, photograph any flaws clearly, and pack items carefully for postage.

Account Suspension

Culture Closet reserves the right to suspend or permanently close accounts that:

• List prohibited or counterfeit items
• Repeatedly receive upheld disputes
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Violate these terms or our community standards
